That is why it is but imperative to know how to care for one's hair extensions to make sure it does not damage your hair or scalp.
Before washing one's hair, you will need to brush it first with a brush made especially for hair extensions and not with a comb. One should also keep in mind never to use a brush on wet hair and a comb should not be used on dry hair as well. The importance of brushing hair before washing is to prevent it from tangling. Aside from that, you will also need to brush at least twice a day to prevent breakage or knots.
When washing hair extensions, always remember to use only oil-free products. This is because oil causes the bond to slip. For people who want to use conditioner, you will need to visit a salon so they can check the condition of the hair extensions. Washing should also begin on the roots. After washing, let the hair dry on its own for 10 minutes. This will allow water to evaporate and loosen knots that may have formed. In addition, you will also need to use a diluted conditioning spray or any professional hair care products. Lastly, gently comb hair with a wide tooth comb.
